How do I activate my watch?

To activate your watch,
  1. Log into your account
  2. Select "Activate your ONE GPS+" follow the on-screen instructions.

How do I set up My ONE GPS+?

Follow the instructions in the enclosed Quick Start Guide, in the online User Guide (see Timex Manuals page)

Where can I find my watch ID?

Press the Menu button until the main menu is seen.

How do I find my IMEI & serial number? (the unique number often needed when contacting customer service for support)?

These details are printed on the back of the watch. The IMEI is also available in the watch. Tap Settings, swipe across to Info, and then swipe down to the IMEI Number in case the caseback label is worn.

How do I find what version of the device software I have uploaded?

Available on AT&T Device How-To Center (under Systems & storage)Tap Settings, tap Info, scroll down to Software. Tap and hold on Software to expose the versions running on the watch.

When does the first free year of Data start?

Upon Activation, the one year of free data service begins.

Who will bill me for Data? How will I get my Data bill?

In the US, the second year of the data plan will be billed by AT&T Wireless, no matter whether you are an AT&T customer or not. For Canada, the second year’s service will be billed by Timex Canada.

What Data plans are available for my ONE GPS+?

A one-year data plan is available for purchase: US$40 or CDN$40 based on your registered location.

Can I resell or gift my watch to another person? What happens to my service plan and email info in that case?

The data plan is attached to the Watch ID, so the plan will expire on its original date.

I have a new watch but it will not allow activation.

Watch battery must be charged to a minimum level before activation starts. Please connect to a charger, when the battery reaches the required charge the watch will indicate that it is ready for activation.

Watch will not complete the activation but shuts power-off during the stage when display Downloading update. This may take a few minutes.

Connect USB charging cable then power-up the watch. Cable should be connected until the activation process is complete.
If the error persists, please contact Timex customer service.

Do I need a phone to set up my ONE GPS+?

A phone is not necessary for setup and the phone app cannot be used to activate the ONE GPS+.

Do I need a phone to operate my ONE GPS+?

A phone is not required to operate the ONE GPS+, which is designed to perform all its functions on its own. You will need to use the web portal or the phone app to perform functions that cannot be done on the watch:

When I enter my watch ID, I get a message indicating that the device is already in use.

The watch ID you entered is already associated with another user:

The watch will not accept the activation code.

Please verify the activation code from the portal or the e-mail you received and re-enter it on the watch. If the error persists, please contact Timex customer service.

I received a message indicating that the activation cannot be completed and I should wait for an e-mail.

The activation could not be completed automatically and will be handled manually by customer service. You should receive an e-mail within 24 hours with further instructions. If you do not receive an e-mail , please contact Timex customer service.

The portal will not accept my password or I forgot my password.

Where can I find a full manual for My ONE GPS+?

Is the band replaceable?

The long end of the strap (holes side) is replaceable. Please contact Timex customer service for pricing. The short end of the strap (buckle side) is not user-replaceable, please contact Timex customer service if this breaks.

Is the glass lens replaceable? What should I do if it is cracked?

The glass lens is not user-replaceable, please contact Timex customer service.

Can I swim with my ONE GPS+? Is it waterproof or water- resistant?

The watch is rated to 50M water-resistant, so it can withstand swimming, but none of the cellular, Bluetooth or GPS services are available when the watch is in the water.

How do I clean my ONE GPS+ screen and band?

Use water and a mild soap, or an alcohol cleaning wipe. Do not use bleach or harsh solvents as they may damage the watch case and strap.

Are there any plans to add more languages to the User Menu?

ONE GPS+ provides text in English, French, Spanish, German, and Italian. That selection is first done as part of the activation process or can be updated in the Settings page (the 3rd screen in the Settings app). As Timex expands its geographic coverage, it will add to the number of available languages.

What accessories are available for my ONE GPS+?

Timex sells compatible sensors, and there are other compatible HRM, Foot Pod or Headset devices using Bluetooth® technology on the market.

Where can I buy accessories for my ONE GPS+?

The Timex-branded Heart Rate Sensor and Foot Pod will be available for sale on Timex com, and because the accessories are certified Bluetooth®, other brands can be found on the Internet.

How do I lock my device display during a workout?

The device touchscreen can be locked by pressing and holding the Menu button. Note that the display will continue to update but the touch function swill be disabled. A tutorial is available here under Security / Lock & unlock.

How can I restart my ONE GPS+ that has locked up?

Hold the Power & Menu buttons for 10 seconds.

How does ONE GPS+ messaging work?

Each ONE GPS+ user is assigned an e-mail address (username@onegpsplus.com, which can also be seen in the web portal or phone app).
E-mails sent to this address will be delivered to the watch as well as the web portal and phone app (if used).

Messages sent from the watch will use this address in the from field.

How do I send a message?

Select one of your Contacts from the Main Menu, select a Canned Message or enter a message, and Send. A tutorial is available here under Send Messages.

How do I send an emergency message?

Select your SOS list from your Contacts, select a Canned Message or the Keyboard option, select/de-select the location option and Send. You can also program the > button to directly link to the SOS list by pressing and holding the button and selecting the SOS Message option. A tutorial is available here under Key Features.

How do I delete a message on the watch?

If you tap and hold the message in the IN BOX or CONTACTS app, the watch will give you the option to delete the message or thread.

How many characters will a message allow?

The ONE GPS+ supports up to 280 characters. Longer messages will be truncated before being delivered to your watch.

How do I add contacts to my ONE GPS+?

Contacts can be added through the ONE GPS+ portal, app or watch. In the watch, tap Contacts, swipe to the Settings page, and tap the Add button. A tutorial is available here under Contacts.

How do I add SOS/Angel or Live Tracking to a contact?

Your entered contacts can be specified into one or all three of these categories through the ONE GPS+ portal, apps and watch. In the watch, tap Contacts and swipe to the Favorites or Lists pages, and tap the applicable category. A tutorial is available here under Key Features.

How many contacts will my ONE GPS+ hold?

The ONE GPS+ supports up to 100 contacts.

Can I include profile pictures of my contacts to be seen on my ONE GPS+? What is the size limitation?

At this time, contact pictures entered on the portal and mobile app do not appear on the watch.

I turned on my watch and don’t see any contacts

Downloading of messages and contacts is subject to current network conditions and data connection speeds. Please wait and the contacts will be restored.

How can I listen to the music on my ONE GPS+?

The first step is to pair and connect your wireless Bluetooth 4.0 headset to your ONE GPS+ through the Settings > Bluetooth app in the watch and tap the Headset icon. Once this process is completed, you can play music by tapping the Music icon on the Main Menu. A tutorial is available here under Music, photos & video / Play music.

How do I download music to my watch?

Downloading music to the watch is accomplished by connecting the watch to a PC using the USB /charging cable. The music storage on the watch will appear to the PC as a removable drive. A tutorial is available here under Key features - Add music.

How many songs will my ONE GPS+ hold?

With its 4 GB memory, ONE GPS+ will hold approximately 1,000 songs.

Which music formats does the ONE GPS+ support?

The ONE GPS+ supports mp3 (including VBR), AAC (m4a).
Note that DRM formats are not supported (m4p, m4b).

What type of Headphones or Ear piece is compatible with my ONE GPS+?

Wireless headphones with Bluetooth 4.0 technology can allow you to hear the music stored on your ONE GPS+ watch.

How do I connect Bluetooth headphones & speakers?

Pairing and connecting your wireless Bluetooth 4.0 headset to your ONE GPS+ is accomplished through the Settings > Bluetooth app in the watch and tapping the Headset icon. A tutorial is available here under Music, photos & video / Play music.

Battery and Charging

How long is the battery life on the ONE GPS+?

How long will it take me to recharge my ONE GPS+?

The GPS ONE+ is expected to charge to 80% in 60 minutes and to 100% in 75 minutes. The actual charging time will change depending on ambient temperature, charger current capacity, how low the battery is and whether the watch is performing any other functions.

Watch will not charge when connected to the USB charging cable.

Re-adjust charging clip and make sure it’s properly seated on the cavity provided for the USB clip on the back of the watch. Watch can be charged using the PC or the USB AC adaptor

How do I maximize my battery life when not using the device?

Workouts

How do I begin a workout using GPS Speed & Distance?

From the Main Menu, tap the orange Runner icon, or press the lower right button (Runner icon) to begin a workout. A tutorial is available here under Key Features – Speed & Distance.

How do I know when I have a GPS signal locked?

In the Fitness App, the Start icon (with GPS at the top of it) will fill in orange

What happens to my data after I complete my workout?

The workout data is uploaded to the ONEGPS+ server where it is kept temporarily until it is uploaded to fitness site(s) of your choice. Summaries of your workouts are available on your watch.

How do I upload my workouts to fitness sites?

In order to upload workouts to fitness sites, you must first authorize the ONE GPS+ system to upload on your behalf.
If you are using the web portal, select Settings then Social and Fitness Sites
If you are using the phone app, select Profile then Manage Fitness Sites
In either case, choose to add the fitness site you plan to use.
A separate window will open to the fitness site for you to enter your fitness site credentials and authorize ONE GPS+ to upload your behalf.

Which fitness sites can I upload my workouts to?

Currently you can upload to MapMyFitness, Strava and Runkeeper.
Endomondo will be available soon.

I authorized a fitness site but an upload failed and the fitness site is no longer showing as authorized.

If the upload fails due to an authentication failure, which may happen because of expired keys or other network changes, the authorization is removed in order to allow the user to re-authorize. Please authorize that fitness site again.

I got an email saying my fitness failed to upload to my fitness site, what do I do?

If an upload fails, the workout file is e-mailed to you. You can upload the file attached to the e-mail to your fitness sites.

The watch says workout failed to upload... what do I do?

You can re-initiate the upload:
  1. Enter fitness mode
  2. Swipe to the History page, select workout list
  3. Select the workout that failed to upload
  4. Select the upload icon

What do I do if I receive no message on the watch that my workouts failed to upload and I do not see the data in my preferred fitness site(s).

How do I turn off notifications while working out?

Turn on Airplane mode (cellular services will be disabled)

How do I review saved workouts? Can I delete these from my ONE GPS+ memory?

Swipe to the History in the Fitness app, and tap on the Workouts icon (on the left) to see your listing of saved workouts. Swipe through your Workouts list and tap to see the summary and details of each workout. From the Workouts page, tap and hold any listed workout, and the ONE GPS+ will ask if you want to delete that workout. Tap X to go back or P to confirm.

Who can track me through Live Tracking?

Any of your Contacts designated under Live Trackers in the watch, portal or phone app will receive a notice of and link to your Live Tracking session if you activate the Live Track option on the Fitness app’s 1st page.

What satellite system is my ONE GPS+ engaging to?

The watch uses the Global Positioning System satellite array maintained by the US Air Force, similar to many other GPS watch and navigation devices.

How long should it take the GPS to engage?

The ONE GPS+ should acquire a GPS signal in seconds when the watch is in good AT&T network coverage. GPS Acquisition may take longer in bad network or GPS coverage.

What Heart rate monitor can I use with my ONE GPS+?

Including the Timex version (TW5K87900) that comes shipped with one packaged version, the ONE GPS+ watch will work with any Bluetooth® Smart heart rate sensor

Can I use a Foot Pod with my ONE GPS+?

The ONE GPS+ will work with any Foot Pod featuring Bluetooth® Smart technology

Is there a way to use the workout mode and turn off GPS+ and only use my HRM and or foot pod?

An Indoor workout selection will turn off the GPS reception but still allow the HRM and/or Foot Pod to function. From the 1st page of the Fitness app, tap the Workout icon and change the current workout to Indoor or select another Workout Type by tapping the current workout and swiping through the Workout list. An Indoor workout is shown as an treadmill icon on the Fitness app 1st page.
